Shooting just before and during dusk and then combing exposures for the lights makes for a dramatic look that helps houses stand out among other listings and get showings.

This homeowner was looking to list their house For Sale by Owner and contacted me to improve on the photos they shot with their cell phone (below – posted with their permission). I think I pulled that off, what do you think?

I had great plans for this shoot and when sunset came there were no clouds in the sky, which created a less than dramatic scene. So when I got home I grabbed another sunset I had shot and added it into this scene in photoshop. Oh and while I was at it I added the fire from a shot on one of my son’s boy scout camping trips;)

This homeowner wanted to list their house For Sale by Owner, but discovered that getting good pictures for their listing was harder than it looked, so they called me;) Below are the pictures they took (posted with their permission).

Here is another example of how a bit more time, effort, and skill can really improve the quality of a photograph. The image up top is the final color corrected image. Below is a basic edit almost straight of of the camera. On bottom is what the homeowner produced with their camera before calling me (posted with their permission).

Getting the color right when you have outside light pouring in the windows and different colored bulbs in your lamps takes time and skill, but many homeowners and real estate agents find it’s worth it to present the house at it’s best and get top dollar for the listing.
Here is the same room shot with a few different lighting and editing techniques. The price depends on how much time, effort and skill is required to produce the photos you want.
